ACT Software Installation
It is important that your ACT! Software is installed to the correct specification on to your Local Area Network. Failure to do so, could create problems when rolling ACT! out to your end users. In order to get the best out of your ACT! Software we recommend that our ACT! Certified Consultants carry out the implementation to save you time and money.
Working with your IT personnel, we will configure your server and workstations to the system requirements for ACT! Professional Software. ACT! is installed on each workstation and the preferences set as per the ACT! consultancy briefing documents. This means that all users see the same ACT! interface, ACT! database together with MS Word documents and templates.
Once the server and client installation is complete our ACT! Certified consultants will import the data from your existing data source. The data may be in many formats including text delimited, CSV and DBF to name but a few. Most data imports into ACT! Software are a simple process, if done correctly. However, importing data from other contact management systems can be a little more difficult. This will be discussed with you in greater detail during our initial consultancy day.
Should you have remote users, we will set up synchronisation and set up the security rights for each individual user allowing them to have access to the records within the your ACT! database that you have authorised.
Once your data has been imported into your ACT! database we will carry out a thorough testing from all workstations and remedy any unforeseen problems. Synchronisation will be thoroughly tested to ensure that remote users have the correct number of contacts within their ACT! Database.
Once this is completed to your satisfaction, you will asked to sign the ACT! Installation sign off sheet.
